For more than 20 years, I’ve built my career one job at a time.
It started at the most fundamental level of retail—pushing shopping carts and picking up trash from the parking lot. From there, I stocked shelves, worked the sales floor, supervised teams, managed stores, and eventually moved into executive leadership. Every promotion came with a new perspective, but one lesson never changed:
People matter most.
Having worked at every level of the business, I know what it's like to be the newest or youngest employee, the person closing the store after midnight, the department manager carrying impossible expectations, and the executive responsible for results. That experience gives me a practical understanding of leadership that can't be learned from a textbook, a video, or a presentation.
My philosophy is simple: when people are treated with dignity, trusted to do meaningful work, and led with consistency, businesses thrive.
The best leaders don't earn respect because of their title. They earn it by how they treat people.
